Hazbin Hotel/Awesome

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

General

  • The show's premise; you wouldn't expect to be rooting for the daughter of Lucifer against all of Heaven to support foul-mouthed sinners.

Music

  • "Hell is Forever" as a Dark Reprise response to Charlie's attempts at pitching the Hazbin Hotel to Adam and Lute. Adam hijacks Charlie's well-meaning reprise to rub it in her face that he doesn't see the purges as a Necessary Evil, he likes coming to Hell and wiping out people.

Season One

Overture

  • What little we see of the second commercial that Alastor makes as part of his deal with Vaggie, it looks awesome. Alastor's only request is to not be involved with any video production again.

Radio Killed the Video Star

  • This is basically Alastor's episode to shine.
    • Alastor's "fight" with Sir Pentious, if it can even be called that. The radio demon lobs him into the sky while barely trying, and then repairs the damaged wall to the hotel when Vaggie asks.
    • The duel duet with Vox when Vox starts attacking his character on television. Alastor fires up his radio broadcast, lures the audience with no hypnosis or powers, and cuts off Vox's signal. In case you need reminders that Alastor is an overlord.
    • At the end of the episode, he picks up Sir Pentious's spy watch after the latter agrees to join the hotel for real. He dials Vox, gloats, "Nice try!" and shocks Vox through the watch hard enough to knock the latter out. As a reminder, do not make an enemy of Alastor.
  • Despite everything, Charlie gives Sir Pentious a third chance when Vox fires him, saying that she forgives him for spying on the hotel. And this ends up paying off big time in the finale.

Welcome to Heaven

  • While Charlie's efforts may have not stopped the purges, she did end up exposing them to the other angels. Turns out most didn't know, and they gasp in horror when Adam inadvertently reveals them to the trial. Emily calls out Sera for lying to her and murdering souls in Hell, and the angels start to argue. It provides hope that in season two, the tide will turn.

Hello Rosie

  • Alastor's proposition to Charlie: if the purges are coming, the time for negotiation is over. They need to defend the hotel, and get an army. Alastor also know how to secure one, if Charlie will pay him back a favor in the future.
  • It seems Carmilla will kill Vaggie for knowing that the former killed an angel, beating her up. Then she starts critiquing Vaggie's fighting technique, saying that she figured out the latter used to be an angel, and helps her figure out how to protect the Hazbin Hotel.

The Show Must Go On

  • The defenses that the Hazbin Hotel residents put up, from Alastor's forcefield to Sir Pentious's ground assault.
  • Credit to Alastor, while he does lose, he does thrash Adam for a bit. From tentacles to Mooks, Alastor makes sure to give the angel a beating. Adam has to fly to get distance and destroy Alastor's microphone.
  • Charlie tells Niffty to take a divine knife and stab any angels that she sees. We see Niffty doing that, performing Double Tap on the fallen assailants to make sure they can't get up. It culminates in her stabbing Adam repeatedly after Lucifer beats him to a pulp, ending the assault once and for all.
  • Charlie actually makes Adam bleed when he taunts her that she's just a "girlie" who should have stayed in her place.
  • Lucifer. Vs. Adam. He starts with a well-timed punch before he can strangle Charlie, and proceeds to curbstomp the guy with a taunting Transformation Sequence and mentioning how both Lilith and Eve liked what he had to offer. Then when Adam destroys the hotel and makes Charlie fall, Lucifer gets serious and beats him to a pulp. He only doesn't administer the final blow because Charlie asks for mercy.
