Artistic License History: The legionary helmets are Italo-Corintian when should be Montefortinian instead and their shields should be round (rectangular shields were introduced during Tiberius's reign), Viriathus was only 7 or 8 years old when Galba carried out the massacre of the Lusitans, the horse's saddles didn't have stirrups, Norba Caesarina (current city of Cáceres) was founded in 34 BC, and Viriathus died in 139 BC, the Roman permanent military camps had a moat for defensive purposes and its tents were made of fabric, not leather, and this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Dead Wife/Dead Daughter: Viriato is a widower, and Altea dies in the battle at the start of the series. She isn't dead, but was sent to Rome to become a slave for Galba's son.
- When Galba orders her father to be killed, Claudia decides to get revenge for that.
- Viriato's sister - Sandro's wife - commits suicide so that the Romans stop torturing her. A few minutes after that, Viriato and Sandro enter the tent where she is jailed in order to rescue her.
Tear Jerker: First episode starts heavy, with the apparent death of Viriato's daughter, next to the death of many hundreds of Hispanians.
- Bárbara committing suicide just mere moments before Sandro reaches her in his attempt to save her.
