- I Am Not Shazam/Real Life: She has said that people wrote to her believing that the main characters of The Hots were Author Avatars of her and strip co-creator Stephen Hersh. This belief has Unfortunate Implications since in real life Paley and Hersh have been married, but never to each other (actually, the character Hannah is based on Hersh' wife).
