  • Evil Is Sexy: There are two possible mistresses. Choosing Velvet over Rose causes your Corruption Level to increase, which makes sense since she's downright sadistic and consummately evil. She's also considerably more scantly-clad than the other option.
  • High Octane Nightmare Fuel: Oberon, both literally and metaphorically. The forest materializes his nightmares to protect itself, holding him trapped in And I Must Scream situation.
  • Magnificent Bastard: The Second Overlord, who turned his utter defeat (that is, his death), into an almost absolute victory.
  • Unfortunate Implications: The Overlord's "Send minions" gesture looks scarily like a heil gesture. This didn't go unnoticed, as it was changed drastically by the time II rolled around.
