  • Porting Disaster: While the Genesis had a faithful port of the game, the SNES game was horrible. The graphics were extremely grainy (even by 16-bit standards), the sounds were dull, garbly or just plain missing, and game mechanics were changed for the worse.
  • Scrappy Mechanic: One of the reasons for the game's less-than-stellar reputation is the fact that the player character's health isn't refilled between fights. While clearly done to extract more money from players, it comes across as a blatant example of Fake Difficulty. Turned Up to Eleven in the SNES port, which combines this mechanic with having no continues or passwords.
