Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

  • When Bud does his mother's makeup to cover up the fact that she has turned color.
  • When Bill looks at the book of artwork and says "Where am I gonna see colors like that?"
  • When Betty goes into the soda shop and Bill wipes off her makeup and tells her it's beautiful.
  • When Mary Sue fights with her boyfriend at the book burning. "This is like the only book I've read in my whole life and you're not gonna take it away from me."
  • When Bud and Bill wake up after painting all night and that inspirational music is playing as the townspeople talk about their mural.
  • When Bud turns his own father color. Actually basically his entire speech in the courthouse. "There are so many things, that are so much better..."
  • When David returns to the real world, he notices his mother is in the dining room crying. She left town to meet a potential boyfriend, kick starting the events of the movie. However she chickened out, due to being insecure about her age in comparison to his. As well as lamenting that her life used to be perfect. David comforts her, by wiping the tears off her eyes and assuring her that there is no perfection. Causing her to smile while the following exchange happens.

Mom: How did you get so smart all of the sudden?
David: I had a good day.
