Mr. V, a.k.a. Veronica Rivers, is the mother of Nick Rivers from Top Secret.

Police Squad! is from the same trio that created Top Secret. And not only do the names Veronica Rivers and Nick Rivers sound similar, both characters are in show business in one form or another.
