Seven volume Manga set in mythical ancient China. One night, n'er-do-well Chikei was stealing a food offering from a shrine when meets the titular Qwan, a bizarre child with no real idea who he is and a desire to eat the various demons plaguing the land. Chikei figures he can make use of the boy and the two set off together on a strange journey...
The first four volumes were released in the US by Tokyo Pop, but since 2007 they've shown no indication of releasing the final three volumes.
Tropes used in Qwan include:
- Non Sequitur Scene (Volume 3 suddenly dumps Qwan and Shaga in a strange world full beings obsessed with facial hair)
- Though it may turn out not to be such BLAM as it appears since they meet Ukitsu the author of the Essential Arts of Peace there too.
