  • Complete Monster: Colonial President Adar has not done anything to endear himself to the reader since he was introduced.
  • Crowning Moment of Awesome: The battle over Earth, the raid on Picon, the battle against the Wraith, Hayes' phone call to Adar, and O'Neill chewing out the International Oversight Advisory over their constant micromanagement. Thor effortlessly destroying the remaining hive ship.
  • High Octane Nightmare Fuel: The experience of being taken as a Go'auld host is described first-hand. It is not a pleasant one.
  • Idiot Plot: The Colonial's "cover story" that they were invading Earth to convert the population is abysmally bad. There are far better ones, such as Colonials wanting to stop Earth's AI reaserched, or even better, the Colonials being fooling into thinking that Earth is under Cylon occupation.   • You Fail Logic Forever: Contrast the (real life) upwelling of support the America received after 9/11 (including none other then Fidel Castro - yes that Fidel Castro) with the calls for O'Neill to be charged with war crimes. Also, none of Earths scholars of Greek religion thought that it was rather suspicious a society that worshiped the Classical gods was starting a religious crusade, making them Too Dumb to Live.
  • You Fail Religious Studies Forever: The polytheistic Colonials cover story to their own population is perhaps the worst one possible - the average Colonial citizen would not have cared that Earth was worshiping other gods and would have reacted to Aldar's announcement with incomprehension and disbelief. It also show a profound ignorance of Colonial society (then again, perhaps that was the point)- the rest of the colonies find the Sagittarons attitude towards modern medicine annoying, but they don’t bother to force their own views on them. Same with the Gemenon. There is no evidence that any other planets aside from Capricia persecuted monotheists. Not to mention the decision to allow Cult of Baltar to practice freely - and that's after the cylon genocide that killed all but 50 thousand out of twenty billion. To put it in perspective, imagine if the 9/11 attack killed all but 700 about of a popluation of 280 million, and a handful of the survivors converted to Islam. How well would said converts would be treated?
    • Indeed. If anything the rabid anti-monotheism would have made far more sense in a pre-cylon war fic, given what we see in Caprica.
