• Aborted Arc - The last arc of the manga has a massive buildup and then just seems to die at the end and everything seems to resolve itself with a noticeably rushed Happy Ending. According to the author's notes at the end of Volume 5, he had been working on the story for a long time and realized he needed to finish it soon, so he rushed the ending, though he indicated he might write an epilogue to it one day.
• Shown Their Work: While a lot of fact about the US Navy are somewhat glossed over or ignored, mostly for Rule of Funny purposes, the USS Saratoga and USS_Kamehameha are a real aircraft carrier and submarine respectively, with the latter even having been used for SEAL operations.
