Executive Meddling: Tony Cervone, the film's director, has stated that this was behind the recasting of the characters' voice actors - he wanted to use the characters' original VAs, but Warner Bros. thought it would be better to use an All-Star Cast instead.
Missing Trailer Scene: The scene from the first trailer where Puppy!Scooby licks Shaggy, and Shaggy licks him back, leading to Scooby saying "Don't do that again," never happens in the film proper.
The Other Darrin: With the exception of Frank Welker as Scooby, all of the Mystery Inc. members were recast for this film:
- Will Forte plays Shaggy instead of Matthew Lillard.
- Instead of being voiced by Grey DeLisle, Daphne is voiced by Amanda Seyfried.
- Velma is played by Gina Rodriguez rather than Kate Micucci, who has been the voice of Velma since 2016.
- Zac Efron and Ken Jeong respectively replace Welker as the voices of Fred Jones and Dynomutt.
What Could Have Been: When the idea for this film was originally conceived, it was going to be a hybrid live action/CGI film like the first two theatrical movies and the two Made for TV Movies, before it was decided that this movie would be entirely in CGI.
