Spawn/Awesome

Of course we are reminded that deep down in all the nightmarish, sad, hellish environment Spawn is still a Superhero Comic. Like many iconic Superhero comics before and after this, as well as the adaptations that follow, Spawn and other characters good and bad have had their awesome moments.

Comic

Billy Kincaid's original Death. As many Spawn Fans know, Billy Kincaid was considered Spawn's worst foe outside of Violator and Malebogia and for good enough reason. He's a pedophilic, child murdering, son of a bitch whom moonlights as an Ice Cream Vendor. A man so evil that Al Simmons long before he died and turned into Spawn, tried and failed to kill him. When Spawn finds out that Kincaid is up to his old tricks again, Spawn pays him a visit. Kincaid is then seen in Sam and Twitch's office. Wrapped in Spawn's chains and found with popsicle sticks and an ice scream scoop stuck in his body. The note leaving little to the imagination of what Spawn did to him.

Spawn: Boys Screamed and girls screamed. So I made him scream...and scream....and scream.

Animated Series

Spawn's interactions with Tony Twist. After nearly getting winded by Overkill, Spawn greets his employers with the scrapped remains of Overkill falling out of their car. He wounds two of Tony's men before confronting the man himself. Warning him to stop his business in Rat City. For the most part, they leave him alone, even with the pressure from Jason Wynn and Overkill's creator's to find him and kill him. However on Wynn's orders, Tony made the mistake of kidnapping Cyan, when Wanda got too close to exposing Billy Kincaid. When Spawn hears about Cyan's kidnapping, he interrogates one of the local drug dealers, whom reveals Tony's involvement, Spawn only had one thing to say before swooping in and interrogating Tony.

Spawn: I warned you, you fat piece of shit.

In the same episode as a stark contrast to the comic, Spawn confronts Billy Kincaid when he took Cyan from Tony's men. It starts with confronting him in his house. To Kincaid's credit, he was one of the few human villains to fight back and even distract Spawn by setting the house on fire, triggering Spawn's PTSD. However Spawn recovers well enough to cling to Billy's Ice Cream Truck before they crash into Rat City. The whole thing set up by Clown, so that Spawn could kill Billy in cold blood and corrupt himself further to lead Hell's Army. While Spawn does rough up Billy and rescue Cyan using his cape, he doesn't bring himself to finish off Billy. Letting him go, while helping Cyan reunite with Wanda and Terry. A very pissed off Clown tries to rouse Billy so he could start again, but Billy is so dazed from the beating that all he could think about is Ice Cream. Which pushes Clown to kill him with a gun, transform back to Violator and threaten Spawn.
