* In ''[[Mazinkaiser SKL]]'', Captain Scarlet pilots the Mazinkaiser's supporting unit, Wingle, but also pilots the plane transporting her crew behind Gravity Wall. The plane crashes, she dies and her role as Wingle pilot is taken by Yuki Tsubasa.
* In the first story arc of ''[[Full Metal Panic]]'', Gauron shoots the pilot of the plane carrying his intended target (and himself), to show how evil he is. The co-pilot goes into hysterics, only getting himself under control when Gauron threatens to shoot him as well - Gauron claims to be able to fly the plane.
