* [[Villain Decay]]: Downplayed. King Boo is much less of a threat than he was in ''Luigi's Mansion 2'', as his plans are far smaller in scale this time. But his plans are still larger in scope than in the original game. Instead of simply imprisoning Luigi and Mario in paintings, he decides to do it to Professor E. Gadd, Princess Peach, and three unfortunate Toads that happened to accompany them to the hotel as well.
