* ''[[Girl Genius]]'' - Prince Tarvek and his cousin Violetta spent most of their first couple years in the comic interacting mostly via violence and insults, and started out with a ton of baggage between them re: her blaming Tarvek for framing her for incompetence and thus getting her reassigned from being his bodyguard to the worst posting in the service. Even after they mostly settled that (as it turns out, shortly after Tarvek got her reassigned a wave of assassination attempts began that led to him going though a dozen bodyguards in less than three years). Tarvek and Violetta are in fact the ''only'' members of their extended family that the other unconditionally loves, would die for each other without hesitation, and would burn down countries in revenge for.
