These magical butterflies are drawn to the intended victim via the victim's negative emotions; should those emotions go away, andthe Akuma will cease pursuit, but should theyit actually touch the victim, there is no escape, the only way to save the victim being the heroine's intervention. The only intended victim of an Akuma who has proven able to resist it completely was Celestial Guardian Su-Han, who due to his training as a Guardian, was able to use a focusing chant to shield himself from its influence. It is possible for others to resist its influence briefly, however, as Ms. Buckler was able to resistdo its influenceso for about 30 seconds before succumbing, doing so to protect Marinette, while Chloe was able to resist it outright, possibly [[Acquired Poison Immunity|due to having been akumatized twice previously.]]
