The columnist 'Mr. Cursor' maintained that if audio compact discs ended up being called 'CDs' for short, the 'Digital Video Disc' would inevitably become known as... the 'VD'. Given that 'Mr. Cursor' could alternate between [[Deadpan Snarker]] and [[Cloudcuckoolander]] several times ''in the space of one page'' (a trait shared by most of ''PC Zone's'' staff in [[Golden Age|those days]]), it's hard to tell if he was actually joking. Of course, VDs are now more commonly referred to as STDs, making that example doubly dated.
