work
Fed up with exploitative working conditions at Quark's Bar, Rom forms a union of Quark's employees, which is illegal according to Ferengi law.

* Make an Example of Them: Inverted and lampshaded. Brunt has his Nausicaan thugs make an example of Quark for maximum impact.

* Rousing Speech: Rom has two in this episode: One when he's forming the union, and one to keep them together after Brunt and the Nausicaans threaten them.
* Strawman Political: The concept of unions versus employers is handled with about as much balance as you'd expect from a show with Treks political leaning. Of course, the pro-union aesop of the episode is sort of left battered and bleeding on the floor if you know much of the history of the franchise; the series has routinely used "scab" labor whenever a union strike occurred, and at least one of their movies suffered various terrorist attacks from grip union supporters due to this.
