* Ironically enough, Satan himself (as his human alter ego [[Meaningful Name|John Milton]]) [[Satan Is Good|depicts himself as this]] in ''[[The Devil's Advocate]]''. Claiming that [[God Is Evil]] because he cruelly tempts human beings and then punishes them when they can't resist, Satan declares himself "the last humanist" because he accepts human beings despite all their flaws. It is difficult to judge whether Satan is outright lying or has [[Becoming the Mask|talked himself into believing his own lie]], but in either case he should know that - especially when it comes to sin - [[Golden Mean Fallacy|tolerance isn't always a virtue]].

* The Mystics in ''[[The Dark Crystal]]''. Jen's adoptive father even admits he shouldn't have waited until he was on his deathbed to explain what to Jen what his quest is, and this lack of foresight requires Jen to figure the whole thing out himself, something he clearly ''could not'' have done without Kira's help. They also apparently never saw reason to teach Jen how to read, a skill which would have been very useful in said quest, something which, again, was helped by Kira having more sensible guardians.
