A pair of alien doctors are trying to convince the rest of the galaxy that warp travel is hazardous to space, taking increasingly extreme measures to be heard.
Tropes used in Force of Nature include:
- Aborted Arc: Despite the rather dire implications of this episode concerning warp travel, it's consequences and implications were never addressed again, likely due to the limitations it would have imposed on future writers to follow up on.
- Unfortunate Implications: It's extremely easy to take the episode as an endorsement of ecological terrorism, considering that the scientist who attacks ships and endangers numerous lives (with only the Enterprise's usual heroism keeping her from having a body count in the hundreds or thousands) gets almost exactly the results she wanted from her actions. That she dies to do so in a self-created explosion could almost be a condoning of suicide bombers.
