The current image is fine, but perhaps a better illustration would be a modern/recent past work using the Mini-14 and a sci-fi work using it in a Muzzelite stock with the caption noting both are the same gun.
Something like these two (not sure on licensing, may be easy enough to get original screenshots of A-Team and Total Recall.
