Definitions

All terms are case-sensitive. If you don't have the information for a particular line, please leave the line blank.

title is the name of the work. If you don't provide it, the name of the wiki page will be used instead.
original title is the original name of the work, either the long-form name that nobody uses any more or the name in the work's original language.
image is the name of the picture you uploaded to illustrate the book, without the "File:" prefix. Note: The image will display at 300 pixels wide in this infobox, so please choose something that looks good at that size. If no image is listed, the page will be listed at Category:Pages Needing Images.
caption is a caption for the image, and is optional. If you didn't add an image, the caption will not be displayed.
author is the writer's name. This will automatically be turned into both a link to the All The Tropes page for the creator and a category for works by the creator, so don't add crosslink markup to the name. If the work was written by two people, list only one writer here and list the second writer at author2.
author2 is the second writer's name, if there is one. This will automatically be turned into both a link to the All The Tropes page for the creator and a category for works by the creator, so don't add crosslink markup to the name, and don't list more than one name.
central theme is Exactly What It Says on the Tin.
elevator pitch is a very short synopsis, preferably a single sentence - not long enough for a Recap page. If the work already has a Laconic description, you can copy it here.
genre is Exactly What It Says on the Tin. Feel free to specify multiple genres.
franchise is the name of the franchise that this book is a part of. Again, this will automatically be turned into a link to the All The Tropes page and a category for the work's page.
preceded by and followed by are the names of the books immediately before and after this book in the franchise. Once again, these will automatically be turned into links to the All The Tropes pages, so if you are using this template on the page for the first or final book of a series, leave the non-applicable line blank.
publication date is when the book was first published.
source page exists is a special flag - if there is a Source subpage for the book on All The Tropes, set this to "yes"; otherwise, leave it blank.
wiki URL and wiki name are the URL and name of the wiki for this work.

Known Limitations

This template will break if more than two authors are listed.
