The template includes a hard carriage return, so any "continuation" entered on the same line ends up on the next line with a leading space, forcing it into "code" format. See Straw Misogynist for an example.

I reworked the template. Now it accepts the given reason as an argument. All the articles will that this template appears in will need to be reworked, though. Care to give me a hand?

Sure. I'll fix whatever I come across in my normal wiki perambulations, and when I have the time to actually sit down and plan what I'll so I'll actively search for more.
