  • Ensemble Darkhorse: Fugax. Even the most negative reviews singled out Bruce Campbell for praise in his performance.
  • Family-Unfriendly Aesop: Working together regardless of differences is quite a valid aesop, but more than a few reviewers pointed out how Lucas was taught to conform to the point of not being an individual. Negative reviews went as far as to call the movie Communist propoganda or a Hezbollah training video.
  • Fridge Brilliance: Lucas seems to get Super Strength and climbing ability for no reason. But if a person were shrunk that small, he would become stronger and probobly be able to get his fingers into smaller cracks to climb up seemingly smooth surfaces!
  • High Octane Nightmare Fuel: The frog's stomach scene, along with a healthy amount of Mood Dissonance: BURRRRRP
  • Moral Event Horizon: Beals crosses the line between doing his job and outright sadism. He loves killing bugs and he taunts Lucas into signing the contract just so he can kill a bunch of ants.
