The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures/YMMV

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

  • Excuse Plot: In the first game, collecting the Rupees had no real relevance to the plot, so Four Swords Adventures replaces Rupees with "Force Gems", which the player is required to (collectively) acquire enough to empower the Four Sword, otherwise they cannot break the barrier at the end of every level, and will have to go back to get some more.
  • Heroic Sociopath: If played with several highly competitive/mischevious people; While direct attacks with swords aren't possible, a player is perfectly capable of dragging another player next to him with a Boomerang, picking them up, chucking them over a cliff and collecting the Force Gems hemorrhaged from their corpse while they respawn. Yes, this is speaking from personal experience.
  • Scrappy Mechanic: If a GBA is disconnected, the game freezes for a while before returning to the title screen if the controller is not reconnected. This only allows enough time for the event of the cable accidentally being unplugged. If the batteries in your GBA died... well, you better hope you saved recently. (This is of course true of GBA games, but still...)
    • Worse yet, the design of the GBA SP and the GBA-GCN cable combined means you can't have an SP plugged in with an AC adapter at the same time you have it connected to the GCN.)
