Genius Bonus: Some of the Phantom Books are actual literary works.
- In episode 12, the Phantom Book that was written by a famous but unspecified assassin morphs into the gun that John Wilkes Booth used to assassinate Abraham Lincoln.
Hey, It's That Voice!: Durarara's Shizuo and Celty are Huey and Dalian.
- Huey's childhoodfriend and resident Christmas Cake is Mamiko Noto.
- Episode 6's Mabel Nash and her younger sister are Aya Endo and Rina Hidaka, respectively.
Shout-Out: All of episode 4 is pretty much an anime version of Misery condensed into a half hour.
- And somehow makes the original look tame in comparison.
