Don't sort within sections

Summary by Arlo James Barnes

Lessons from mods: Sections are sorted, but not examples within sections. Also, always give longform edit summaries, because

Not sure what "p&c" is supposed to mean...

... on your recent edit to White-Haired Pretty Girl‎, but honestly, it's not necessary to sort sections like that. The vast majority of pages have unsorted media sections, and frankly, because our standard contribution guidelines ask that new examples get added to the end of their sections (to make it easier for regular/repeat readers to find additions), they're just going to get out of order again. So thank you, but there's no reason to actually do that anywhere else.

acronymfinder.com suggests:

  • Property and Casualty (insurance)
  • Personal and Commercial (banking)
  • Perfumes & Cosmetics
  • Point & Click
  • Peaches & Cream
  • Private & Confidential
  • Publishing and Copyright (music)

And some other meanings that probably have even less to do with tropes than those.

So... what does "p&c" stand for in this context?

Pepper&Carrot which is the work for the entry I added. I'll make my summary long-form and add the edit to the end next time (and feel free to revert my edit if that will cause trouble, I can reconstruct the non-disruptive parts of my edit later).

No worries. It's done now, just don't expect the section to stay sorted when other people add examples.

Yeah, what Rob said. Don't waste the effort in the future. Putting the sections themselves in alpha order, yes, that's necessary housekeeping still, sadly. But when we say "Examples Need Sorting", it's just into their media types, no further.
