Tropes present in Track of the Moon Beast

  • Non Sequitur Scene: The entire first scene of the movie (i.e., the harebrained "prank") is one. Also the scene in which Paul's pet lizard's cage is found ripped open was possibly intended as some kind of clumsy Red Herring, to make the viewer think the lizard had mutated into a monster, but it's never addressed again and just looks nonsensical in context.

Kathy: Paul, help me!
Servo: Uh, try standing up.

  • Ensemble Darkhorse: Johnny Longbow.
  • Mondegreen: Mike and the bots mishear "Johnny Longbow" as "Johnny Longbone". Since this is much, much funnier, that's fine with us. The prankster who did the birdcalls is identified only once, and is evidently named Butt Healer. Man, Johnny Longbone and Butt Healer should have their own movie.
    • "He's an anthropologist with an uncanny gift for archery. He's a proctologist. Together, They Fight Crime."
    • According to IMDB, "Butt Healer"'s name is, in fact, "Budd Keeler".
  • Special Effect Failure: The real moon evidently backed out of the movie at the last second, so at one point we're treated to an obvious picture of it as Paul transforms.
    • See also the "burning toast" meteor in the prologue.
