Vigor Mortis/Characters

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

Characters from Vigor Mortis include:

Vita

A description of the character goes here.

Tropes exhibited by this character include:
  • Ironic Name: Her name means "life" in Latin, and she's a necromancer.
  • Necromancer
  • The Shill: She has played this role for Rowan.
  • Street Urchin
  • Willing Channeler: Vita frees her friend from the influence of a Puppeteer Parasite that needs a sapient host to have sapience itself; the parasite would rather die than remain alive at animal intelligence, and was actually pretty nice circumstances aside, so Vita accepted it into herself rather than kill it. It helps that Vita is (near-)uniquely capable of killing it should it step out of line, even while possessing her.

Penelope

A description of the character goes here.

Tropes exhibited by this character include:
  • Anti-Hero: On a personal level she tends to act unethically, often acting like an asshole, but sometimes acting outright villainous. But on a societal level (such as her political agenda) she is generally heroic.
  • Dr. Jerk
  • Deadly Doctor: Her Talent lets her kill using biomancy without using spells. As a side effect, she probably has an easier time learning more benign biomancy.
  • Hates Being Touched: Gave Bently ulcers for hugging her.
  • Immortality Seeker: Not only does she want to be immortal to live forever, as a doctor, she views immortality as the ultimate goal of medicine.
  • The Medic
  • Rapunzel Hair: After the time skip, Penelope's hair (even while braided) goes past the waist.

Remus

A description of the character goes here.

Tropes exhibited by this character include:
  • Drill Sargent Nasty: Seems to be this for Hunters.
  • Would Hurt A Child: Remus didn't take Vita's claim that she was 16 seriously, and still let her apply for the guild, hitting her as part of her training (and also disciplining her for stealing food).
  • Would Hit a Girl

Rowan

Tropes exhibited by this character include:

Lyn

Penta

I wish I could be anything other than a Nawra

A description of the character goes here.

Tropes exhibited by this character include:

Norah

A description of the character goes here.

Tropes exhibited by this character include:
  • Stone Wall: She didn't even have a real weapon when she was introduced. Remus calls her on this and told her to get a proper weapon.

Orville

A description of the character goes here.

Tropes exhibited by this character include:
  • Inferiority Superiority Complex: He doesn't have a Talent, and thus feels he has to constantly prove he is better than everyone, especially naturally-Talented mages.
  • Weak but Skilled: When Vita joined the hunter's guild, his soul was weaker than everyone else on his team.[context?]

Bently

A description of the character goes here.

Tropes exhibited by this character include:
  • Dumb Muscle: Emphasis on Dumb. His physical strength seems unremarkable by hunter standards, but his stamina is ridiculous, which is a good fit for Penelope's hypermetabolize spell.

Jelisaveta

A description of the character goes here.

  • Blessed With Suck: Her Super Senses are so intense that it almost drove her insane once her Talent activated and even know she occasionally has short crippling episodes of SPD.

Super Senses: All her senses are ludicrously sharp. According to the thundamoo's discord, jelisaveta thinks she has a better sense of smell than a dog.
