Winner Take All/Trivia

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

  • Hey, It's That Guy!: Bill Cullen hosted many game shows, while Bud Collyer went on to host the original iterations of Beat the Clock and To Tell the Truth.
  • Hey, It's That Voice!: Bern Bennett was the first announcer on Beat The Clock and To Tell The Truth, while Don Pardo announced on many games.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: Five TV episodes are known to exist — one Gray [1], four Cullen [2] — and have been aired at various times by GSN (most notably a week in September 2004).
  • Throw It In: GSN made a small timing error in their September 2004 airing of the February 28, 1952 episode, resulting in a glimpse of an NBC affiliate ID (WNBT, New York).
  • What Could Have Been: Play For Keeps! would've been Goodson-Todman's first big-money quizzer, but considering the entries that cropped up in the next three years and the massive scandals that followed, it's probably for the best that this pilot didn't sell.
