- Cult Classic: It's probably the least remembered game in the franchise, but still has a small following who remember it fondly.
- Demonic Spiders: Zombies with shotguns, especially if there's more than one in the same area.
- Ensemble Darkhorse: Rikiya Busujima. He even made a surprise appearance in Project X Zone representing the entire House of the Dead franchise.
- It's Hard, So It Sucks: The difficulty was one of the game's main criticisms, even for an arcade game.
- Narm: The voice acting is considered among the worst in the franchise, and the plot doesn't make any sense. How did ZED highjack a ship just moments after he was completely destroyed?
