Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice/YMMV

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

These things about Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice are subjective - not everyone will agree with all of them.

  • Better on DVD: The Ultimate Edition reinserted 30 extra minutes onto the film and gained a better reception.
  • Darkness-Induced Audience Apathy: Many non-Snyderverse fans thought of the film as a gray versus grey battle.
  • Ensemble Darkhorse: Jenet Klyburn (played by Jena Malone) in the Ultimate Edition got this for sealing up plot holes in the theatrical version.
  • Misaimed Marketing: The film itself is dark but there were cereal and toy tie-ins.
  • Narm Charm: "Why did you say that name!?" didn't sound good on paper but Batfleck made it memorable.
  • Signature Line: "Tell me. Do you bleed?"
  • They Changed It, Now It Sucks: Good lord, where to begin? Batman being brutal, Luthor acting as a giggling clown, Jimmy Olsen being a CIA mole that is killed as an afterthought. Comic book fans tend to dislike the movie, to nobody's surprise. There is also the controversial move of killing Superman, considering The Death of Superman occurred when he was experienced, not when he had barely fought any villains.
  • Vindicated by History: The release of Zack Snyder's Justice League has helped improve the film's reputation.
