Civilian Power

This is when a civilian or group of civilians, whether it be through TV, the internet, word of mouth, or simply being caught in the middle of everything, notice the battle. More often than not, the Final Battle. The civilians somehow figure out who the good guys are. When the hero is in a pinch at the hands of the villains. What will the civilians do? Call the police? Run for their lives? Actually try to save the day themselves? Heck no! They use their Civilian Power by cheering on the hero and somehow (either directly or simply because the cheering fuels the distressed hero's Heroic Spirit) the Hero gains the power to send the bad guy flying.

Anime

Happens in the Digimon Adventure movie. Throughout the movie, Diaboromon's pretty much kicking the crap out of the Digidestined. However, the very virus it used to wreak havoc on anything and everything electronic made it so everyone in the world with a computer (and/or a TV in Revenge of Diaboromon) could see the battle. Diaboromon was responsible for the very cause for its defeat. Nice Job Fixing It, Villain. Every child watching the battle had been sending in supportive e-mails cheering the heroes on (besides one jerk). Initially, they're a nightmare for the heroes, but they eventually are used to give the heroes enough power to give Diaboromon the beating of his life.

Real Life

This is pretty much how many demonstrations and cause events work, though mainly for the point of drawing attention and creating awareness rather than cheering on a hero.
