The Companions Quartet by Julia Golding is a four-part series of books taking place in the seaside town of Hescombe. It revolves around Connie Lionheart, a girl with the rare ability to bond with all types of creatures and during the course of the series utilising their abilities. She also has to fight against the main villain Kullervo, who seems to have an hidden bond with her.
