Crystal Dragon Jesus/Playing With

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

Basic Trope: A fictional religion which mostly resembles Christianity to a "T."

  • Straight: Troperianism, which is the Namespacia's predominant religion, has a God, who consists of three component essences and even sent a savior down to that version of Earth as a means to redeem man for their collective sinful nature.
  • Exaggerated: Most of Troperianism's aspects, like the mythological structure of the religious hierarchy, which directly has analogue in Christianity.
  • Downplayed: Basicaly, Troperianism is classified as monotheistic.
  • Justified: Troperianism's religious belief system developed out of Christianity, but was adapted to suit Namespacia's denizens' needs.
  • Inverted:
    • Troperianism has aspects and inspirations from about every religion, except Christianity.
    • Troperianism has many Christian names, but it's In Name Only (with no association whatsoever). The naming conventions were thought of the coolest ever.
  • Subverted: Troperianism does closely resembles Christianity...But actually worships Troperianism version of Satan.
  • Double Subverted: Only to do so to abide their time as a means to starve off Troperianism! Satan's wrath, until Troperian! Jesus comes to save the day.
  • Parodied: Troperians worship Tsirhc Susej, who is Dog's son and he died for man's sins, but promise to return again in the future to save mankind from Natas' evil ways.
  • Zig Zagged: Troperianism heavily borrows from Christianity and other religions as well (i.e. Islam, Hinduism, Greek Mythology etc.).
  • Averted: Troperianism doesn't borrow from any real world religion.
  • Enforced: The author is primary writing for a Christian (or culturally Christian) audience and wants them to instantly identify with the protagonists.
  • Lampshaded: (Rewrite/fix this)
  • Invoked: A character is forced to invent a religion on the spot by circumstances. So comes with little more than Christianity with some changed names.
  • Exploited: It's insanely easy for Christians to avoid anyone noticing they're not Troperianists.
  • Defied: ???
  • Discussed: "Why does Troperianism appears too much like Christianity?"
  • Conversed: "Why do denizens of fantasy books always just practice some relabeled Christianity?"
