Dan Brown is a thriller author, most famous for the Robert Langdon series, the best known of which is the best-selling novel (and subsequent film), The Da Vinci Code. He is also somewhat infamous for not doing his research and obfuscating when asked about it.
Not to be confused with Dale Brown or the Dan Brown from Youtube who vlogs, solves Rubik's Cubes, and jumps on pogosticks.
