Tropes used in Dear Mun include:
- Breaking the Fourth Wall
- Fourth Wall Mail Slot: An inversion -- it's essentially a Fourth Wall Mail Pickup.
- Insistent Terminology: The moderator keeps saying that this isn't a dressing room and that those who wish to use it to RP should go somewhere else, but absolutely no one listens.
- Mega Crossover: As a place where characters from different panfandom RPs can and do interact, this manages to be a Mega Mega Crossover Crossover.
- Rage Against the Author: About ninety percent of the posts are this.
