Fridge Horror

• Axis Powers Hetalia fanfic Debt is bad enough already, with

all the torture and everything, but then you think about it- Arthur, Alfred and Yao are, respectivley, the human forms of England, the USA, and China. So what exactly is going on in Real World America and England? Nothing good, that's for sure.

• • There was a rise in violent crimes that (probably) had nothing to do

with the nation of China. The way things work seem to be reversed from canon's "Effect on Nation Causes Effect on Person" to "Effect on Person Causes Somewhat Unrelated Effect on Nation." Chapter eleven both places heavy emphasis on how the person and the nation are two different things, and shows that the Chinese government was quite shocked at Yao's actions. Not that the increased crime rates were good, but at least there weren't any nasty and quite potentially apocalyptic clashes between the three nations.

• • • Good thing too. Since canon portrayed World War Two as about as

serious as a game of hide-and-seek between the nation characters, one really, really dreads to think what one nation causing any physical damage worse than bruises to another would do.

• • • I always imagined it as a [[Character Derailment violent coup

d'etat]] in China resulting in the invasion of Britain and the United States. Various torture methods meant various things happening to the countries, like cutting out eyes being equivalent to EM Ping radar nets, amputations meaning the annihilation of most government organizations, the Mind Rape meaning the installation of a puppet government, and cutting out tongues equaling the destruction of communications devices.

• Also, it should be obvious, but Arthur and Al are going to spend the

rest of their immortal lives as blind, raped, limbless messes. It takes a while for the sheer crappiness of that to sink in. [[The Woobie Poor boys]].

• • Nasty aversion of the Fanon theory that they can regenerate any

damage from anything that's not done to their country. Then again, if they could, [[High Octane Nightmare Fuel they'd probably just have lost their appendages again and again ...]] Who Wants to Live Forever? indeed.

• Another one that's slightly less apparent, but still pretty

noticeable: [[spoiler:It's outright stated that, as an immortal, it would be impossible to keep China imprisoned forever. It's also stated that China spends time either wondering in amusement how everyone reacted to the state of England and America or planning his "punishment" on Hong Kong for helping his "pets" escape. Let that sink in: Enough time in the isolated prison for a fully plotted revenge and for massive Sanity Slippage; (Well...China didn't have much in the sanity department to start with, but the bit that was there would be long gone)but not long enough to amount to eternity. Chances are, Hong Kong (and probably Japan, who was already hated by China, before he helped Hong Kong free the two Western nations) is going to go to through China-induced hell sometime in the future; plus, they [[Paranoia Fuel most likely already know that.]]]]

• • Technically they could keep him controlled permanently if they, for

example, broke his spine. Sinking to his level probably isn't on the agenda for them, though.

• • They could also keep him controlled by engaging in

[[Moral Event Horizon strategic nuclear bombardment of the People's Republic of China until it was a radioactive moonscape]], if you use the above fanon theory that damage done to their country cannot be regenerated. Doubt sinking below his level is on the agenda either, though.

• • • Maybe if Hong Kong merged back into being an official part of the

People's Republic, they could kill China and let Hong Kong (the character) take over as representative? Bit drastic, though, even if it's not on the level of nukes.

• Since America's glasses are Texas, if he's blinded and doesn't need

his glasses anymore, does that mean Texas has to secede from the union? Something to think about.

• What the hell was China's dragon boss doing throughout all of this?

Chinese dragons are supposed to be harbingers of goodness, so I can't imagine he'd be pleased by this. Then again, considering China's mental state, it's possible that in this ficverse Dragon was a hallucination or something.
