Probably one of our oldest Primal Fears, and quite universal, given that we used to share this planet with some rather nasty predators. In this modern world, we have little to fear from most animals on land (though the sea is another matter), but stories of monsters of all kinds (dragons, aliens, demons, zombies, etc.) keep us very aware that we can become prey quite easily. It's probably the most common fear we have as kids. |
