• Fan Nickname: Some fans like to call Disneyland's dragon, "Murphy", because of its tendency to break down.
• Shout-Out: Maleficent enters while threatening, "Now, you will deal with me, and all the powers of my imagination!" This quote sounds very similar to what she told Prince Philip right before turning into a dragon: "Now, shall you deal with me, O Prince, and all the powers of Hell!"
• Uncancelled: The Disneyland version became so popular, Disney decided to indefinitely extend its originally five-year run. Nineteen years later, its still kicking and none of the shows look like they're going anywhere anytime soon.
• What Could Have Been: Regarding Disney World's version:
  • Early plans included a new version called Hollywood Fantasmic! It would have reportedly included characters and scenes from MGM movies along with those from Disney.
  • The climax would have featured Mickey walking on water if not for fears that such an act would draw Messiah parallels.
  • One deleted scene features Captain Nemo and the giant squid, both from Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea.
