Or... Hm. I'm going to have to look into templates now. Maybe we can incorporate a conditional display of a header into the template? I dunno. You guys are the experts. -- Looney Toons (talk) 15:47, 20 November 2013 (UTC)}}

::And after a little research, modifying the template seems possible, but discouraged by at least the Wikipedia documentation for reflist. One reason (no standard section title) seems to be irrelevant in our little domain, as we'll be setting the ATT standard; the other (edit link that would open the template itself) seems avoidable with the right "magic word" if some of the other pages I saw are any indication. For the moment, at least, I'll let it lie there and see what discussion brings forth. -- Looney Toons (talk) 16:05, 20 November 2013 (UTC)

::I just added a "Notes" section to the template as a test. I originally wnted to do this anyway, but I didn't because Vorticity wasn't sure it would look good. However, changing it was really easy, so let me know what you think of the change and if we should keep or revert it. GethN7 (talk) 17:13, 20 November 2013 (UTC)

Can we eventually set up a bot to go through pages and detect whether they actually have any refs to go into the reflist template, and if so put a "== Notes ==" header over it? The bare footnote list look bothers me, and I've been adding a header whenever I encounter one, but I'd rather automate it than try to manually locate and update x-many thousand pages that need it. <grin>

Or... Hm. I'm going to have to look into templates now. Maybe we can incorporate a conditional display of a header into the template? I dunno. You guys are the experts. -- Looney Toons (talk) 15:47, 20 November 2013 (UTC)

And after a little research, modifying the template seems possible, but discouraged by at least the Wikipedia documentation for reflist. One reason (no standard section title) seems to be irrelevant in our little domain, as we'll be setting the ATT standard; the other (edit link that would open the template itself) seems avoidable with the right "magic word" if some of the other pages I saw are any indication. I just added a "Notes" section to the template as a test. I originally wnted to do this anyway, but I didn't because Vorticity wasn't sure it would look good. However, changing it was really easy, so let me know what you think of the change and if we should keep or revert it. GethN7 (talk) 17:13, 20 November 2013 (UTC)
