These are recommendations made by Tropers for Grim Grimoire fanfics, all of which have to be signed to stay on the page. Feel free to add a fanfic of your own to the list, but remember to use the template found here. After a few samples, you will be able to judge whether you might be interested in the 'fic, based on who recommended it. No-name recommendations will be Zapped (wiki). Nobody would back up the rec.
You can also add to the current recommendations if you want. Refrain from posting Conversation In The Main Page though; that goes in the discussion page.
Do warn when a fanfic may head into homosexual or non-canon territory. Some people just don't like it, and as we all know, Shipping is Serious Business.

- Recommended by Fuyu no Sora
- Having written about 97% of stories in this fandom (and being famous or at least well known in many others), DezoPenguin rules supreme over this fic section. His style is witty and spellbinding as he expands the world of Grim Grimoire one story at a time. While most of his fiction centers on the life of protagonist Lillet Blan and her relationship with Amoretta Virgine (her love interest in this fanon, meaning that the stories concerning them will obviously contain Girls Love even if just in passing) as she grows older, there are also one-shots centered on specific characters such as
CuteHot Ghost Girl Lujei, or the leonine Alchemy master, Dr. Chartreuse. Spiked with original characters that just add to the narrative, DezoPenguin's universe is sure to be liked by all Grim Grimoire fans.
General Fics
Stories focused on the family and the friendly relationships of the cast. Plot-focused stories or light day-in-the-life stories. Pretty much anything that isn't focused on romance.
A Rose Upon His Grave by DezoPenguin.
- Recommended by Fuyu no Sora
- Synopsis: A student who walks the halls of the Silver Star Tower after curfew falls into the clutches of the ghost witch, Lujei Piche, and into her scheme of revenge against those responsible for her death.
- Comments: Starring Lujei again, this one-shot is a companion piece and continuation of sorts to A Rose Forever Blighted where Lujei traps a student into doing her bidding to get back at the man who ordered her death. It shows the ghost witch as a much crueler and scheming character than the previous story while keeping the reader in suspense as to where exactly she intervened. A must read for Lujei fans.
An Alchemy of Needs by DezoPenguin.
- Recommended by Fuyu no Sora
- Synopsis: In this vignette, one year after the creation of his ultimate homunculus, Chartreuse Grande ruminates on the events of his past, the mistakes he's made, and what they mean for the future of his arts and his life.
- Comments: This time Dr. Chartreuse is the star as he recalls how he came to be cursed, Amoretta's words, and what he will do next as both an alchemist and a man. The story shows a different side of Chartreuse as he thinks of where it was he went wrong and how to correct those mistakes, coming to an important realization after much pondering. Somewhat key to understand his attitude in The Making of a Family.
Shipping Fics
Stories focused on the romantic relationships between the cast.
A Rose Forever Blighted by DezoPenguin.
- Recommended by Fuyu no Sora
- Pairing: Lujei/Staff
- Synopsis: Many lovers talk about being together eternally, in this world and the next, but that dream can also turn into an endless nightmare...
- Comments: A two-chapter fic that happens before the game and focuses on Grand Witch Lujei Piche: how ambition and greed led to her becoming a Ghost Girl as well as how her staff became, well, her staff. For fans of Lujei this is a must read.
Life in a Bottle by DezoPenguin (femmeslash)
- Recommended by Fuyu no Sora
- Pairing: Lillet/Amoretta
- Synopsis: A Grim Grimoire Continuation fic in which Lillet and Amoretta are involved in a plot to stop a gang of thieves from stealing Amoretta's life force.
- Comments: A Continuation fic in a fandom with few of them. A very good read for those who are familiar with the series and want to see Lillet do those Magnificent Bastard things she does so well, but it's also accessible for those who never even heard of Grim Grimoire. Shoujo-ai elements, of course, but given the nature of the two protagonists, it shouldn't come as a big surprise; thankfully, that part doesn't overshadow the "A" plot.
- Sunder the Gold: By now, DezoPenguin has got even MORE awesome stories up. Seriously, go read them.
The Hollow Heart by DezoPenguin.
- Recommended by Fuyu no Sora
- Pairing: Lillet/Amoretta
- Synopsis: When a serial killer haunting the capital's theater district may be literally diabolic, it turns into a matter for Mage Consul Lillet Blan, especially when the killer proves to be stalking Amoretta.
- Comments: Stalkers. Murders. The Watch (equivalent of Scotland Yard) way in over its head in a case that has brutal and seemingly random assassinations while the killer leaves messages in blood that a detective desperately struggles to understand. Lillet is forced to join the investigation in a race against time to save innocent lives from the murderer and to prevent him (or her) from going after Amoretta herself. Charged tension and suspense as well as showing Lillet in full Mage Consul mode, The Hollow Heart is definitely one of the author's finest pieces of fanfiction. Comes after Life in a Bottle.
