Trivia about Hermione Granger and the Swiss Tournament includes:

  • Shout-Out: As is to be expected for a Diane Castle Teraverse story, there are many. Just a few examples:
    • In the chapter "Hermione and the Briefings" there is a brief mention of an event from the film Moonraker:

"The Italians are still angry with us about an old incident where one of our Bonds had a battle which destroyed an entire Venetian glassware museum."

    • When the previous Bonds are mentioned by name, their first names are those of the actors who played them, such as "Roger Bond".
    • There are a couple references to Mata Hari when discussing Seductive Spies.
    • Jack refers to the support he'd have on a theoretical field mission as "guys who were trying out for the role of The Spleen".
    • Hermione's personal thoughts frequently use "on the gripping hand" when she's contemplating three or more alternatives.
    • Hermione likens an over-engineered and over-beweaponed motorcycle design from Q division to something from Warhammer 40,000.
    • R00t's hired hackers Lenny and Robbie may be shout-outs to Isaac Asimov's "Robot" stories.
    • Hermione's lock-picking efforts sound like videos from The Lock-Picking Lawyer on YouTube.
    • In chapter 28, Jack mimics Rodney Dangerfield.
    • There are frequent references to other Teraverse characters who don't actually appear in this story, such as Sister Marie.
    • To Terminator 2: Judgment Day when the Mongolian meta walks out of a fireball.
    • When Ron sees Hermione wearing Maria's red hat and trenchcoat, he says, "My god, it's Carmen Sandiego!"
      • He's only the first.
    • Jack refers to the ham served at one breakfast as "slices of Squealer and Snowball".
