Ilya Muromets/YMMV

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

The original movie has

  • Acceptable Targets: The original stories had Tatars as enemies, but the Soviets changed it to Tugars.
  • Non Sequitur Scene: Ilya's wife singing to the forest animals.
    • However, the work she does at the time is quite important to the plot.
  • Macekre: many who know of the original view the Roger Corman version as this.
  • Marty Stu: Ilya, oh so very much.
  • Most Annoying Sound: In the Mystery Science Theater 3000 episode, Mike refers to the Tugars' march music as "symphony for car horns."
  • Squick: "The falcons were witness to our love..."

The MST3K version has

Gypsy: You guys are so weird!

  • Narm Charm: Behind the scenes, the show's writers admitted they actually rather enjoyed this movie, much as they did with the other Russo-Finnish co-productions.
