Lolita/Trivia
< Lolita
- Dawson Casting: Averted in both film versions, which is rather surprising given the subject matter.
- May-December Romance: Referenced implicitly in Céline Dion's use of the name for a song title, and the wide age gap to her manager René Angelil.
- That Came Out Wrong: The "Lolita Bed for girls", formerly offered by Woolworth's plc. The staff who ran the Woolworths website "had no idea" of the controversy surrounding the name and "had to go on to Wikipedia" to learn of the novel.
- Very Loosely Based on a True Story/Ripped from the Headlines: The novel was based on the 1948 kidnapping and repeated rape of 11-year-old Sally Horner.
