That's because the Katakana variation of his name sounded a bit too close to "Ladin" (as in, "Osama Bin Ladin," the leader of al Qaida and the mastermind behind 9/11) for people's comforts due to the game having a similar plot to the 9/11 attacks, and it being released just a few months after the 9/11 attacks.
