Rev. Al Sharpton's message said almost directly to Michael's kids in the front row: "And I want his three children to know: there wasn't nothing strange about your daddy. It was strange what your daddy had to deal with. But he dealt with it!". This got a standing ovation in the Staples Center -- though it evoked a few Big "WHAT'S?!" elsewhere.
The real Heartwarming Moment in the wake of MJ's death? Watching hundreds - thousands - of fans line the streets in California (and millions in other places around the world), dancing to and singing MJ's classic hits; in essence, they gave MJ a flashmob wake, celebrating his life and career without prompting or planning. His music had THAT much of an effect on people, and was THAT ingrained as a part of culture (pop or otherwise), that THAT was the response.
