Ensemble Darkhorse: Even people who loathe the band still think eViL j is an awesome bassist. In fact, many believe that his departure is what made the album Atavist so subpar.
Fan Community Nickname: Shadow Soldiers.
Fan Dumb: Mention that you don't like Otep to any of her fans, and it's automatically assumed it is because you are an ignorant, Fox News watching, homophobic, misogynistic, ultra conservative moron. It doesn't help that Otep herself seems to have this opinion as well.
- Not to mention that some claim she is a genius that makes Einstein look like a moron.
Hate Dumb: People who don't like Otep are usually split into three groups: Those who really don't like their music, those who hate Otep personally, or those who hate the band because they think women don't belong in metal.
High Octane Nightmare Fuel: A lot of their lyrics, but "Jonestown Tea" takes it Up to Eleven.
Memetic Mutation: "TAKE IT OFF!"
Narm: A lot of their videos are supposed to be brutal or thought-provoking, but end up seeming downright cheesy. Ghostflowers and Warhead are good examples of this.
- Also many of the interviews with Otep, which tend to be stuffed with pretentious Purple Prose that end up causing fits of laughter - as mentioned in the Analogy Backfire on the main page.
