* Fellow Red Alert 3 alumna Jenny McCarthy would also share a similar fate with Carano as McCarthy became more infamous for her promotion of the conspiracist anti-vaccination movement, particularly the discredited belief about theomersal and its link to autism, than for her stint on Playboy and later theatrical appearances.

* The 1946 Disney film Song of the South based on the equally controversial Uncle Remus stories became better known for its racist caricatures of black people in a plantation than for "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah", the film's animated sequences and Splash Mountain. Such was the film's notoriety that Disney, in an effort to maintain its family-friendly image, wanted little or nothing to do with the film. It permanently locked it up the Disney vault as well as outright declining to release it on their Disney+ service; said animated portions from the film were however made available in their Disney Sing-Along Songs releases, and the film as a whole is released on home video in various European and Asian countries. The controversy also spilled over (pun not intended) to the Splash Mountain ride, which will be retooled into a Princess and The Frog-themed ride amid the George Floyd protests as many have came to view the ride's theme to be of poor taste in light of civil rights and racism controversies.

* While the DC Animated Movie Universe was far from beloved, it still had several compelling characters and public opinion was gradually warming up. Unfortunately thanks to Executive Meddling, the series finale, Justice League Dark: Apokolips War was an absolute disaster. Darkseid won extremely easily, the heroes were taken down ludicusrously easily by Doomsday clones, which while understandable for people without superpowers, was extremely hard to swallow for heroes like Superman and Wonder Woman. With characters like Zatanna Stuffed Into the Fridge like nothing, a poor plot where the characters have hardly anything to do and act like Pinball Protagonist and an extremely meagre plot, this would have been bad enough. By far the most severe issue was the extreme amount of gore, with several characters torn in half with organs everywhere, characters eaten alive with blood and limbs flying everywhere to the point that the film was accused of doing this for ratings and shock value, and the entire thing having to be undone by a Cosmic Retcon. The film was marketed as a horror film, and while it received several strong receptions from critics, many fans quickly came to utterly hate it, seeing the film as a poor excuse for a slasher/monster horror film, and ruining several genuine plots and developments the other films had created. Very tellingly, while DC has repeatedly talked about the other films in the DCAMU, this one rarely comes up in discussions at all, while the writers of the film have openly admitted that they were forced to write the script, and if they had any liberty at all, they would have done it very differently.
