  • When she isn't being bashed for Shipping reasons, poor Hinata Hyuuga is being bashed because of this trope. The "fans" say things like how "she is too weak, she is too shy, she is a bad role model for girls, etc." and have this annoying habit of comparing her to her "rival in love" in the Ship-to-Ship Combat, Sakura Haruno.
    • Hell, there's also some for Sakura and Tsunade for being two of the few recurring female characters and specializing in both fights and medicine.
      • ...And then Temari, the most pro-active Action Girl on the side of good, is warped by "feminist fangirls" into a screeching, hate-filled, cruel Jerk Sue so they can lay the smackdown on any other female character around. Nevermind that Temari actually wears her hair in pigtails, has a Shower Scene in the fillers, dresses up in a sexy yukata after the Time Skip, and doesn't demean other females for being more or less girly than she is.
    • There's an interesting inversion on this trope as far as wardrobe goes. Hinata, the Yamato Nadeshiko, typically wears pants (with the exception of one scene in Chapter 238 where she's in a robe, and in a flashback to her third birthday, where she wears an orange kimono), while the Tsunderes Sakura and Ino tend to wear skirts.
    • Not to mention, the most recent arc in the manga has done wonders on several of the oft-relegated Kunoichi, and specially for Hinata and Ino. What does the fandom do? Ignore it. Or ruin it by bashing them, since "Hinata just defended Neji, so she's still subservient to males!" (Because apparently you should leave your male teammate and cousin to die to not compromise your womanly strength) and "Ino-pig is supported by Chouji and Shikamaru, that MUST mean she can't do shit on her own!" (Because the girl's group that has been an integral part of her life since she was a little girl is "only keeping her low", she must be a super lone wolf forever!).
      • And now, Sakura goes back into the Action Girl role in 540. She sees through the cover of a supposedly Face Heel Turned Neji, reveals him as a Zetsu clone, and smashes his sorry face. The fandom, however? They completely ignore it in favor of the Kage Team-Up. Okay, that one is awesome too, but it's really gross to see how the Fan Dumb whines whenever a girl shows "weakness" and then ignores her when she's "strong".
